Nashville-based drummer Megan Jane brings a simple stylistic philosophy to her playing – “less is more.” Since moving to Nashville, Megan has played drums live and in the studio with several artists (Chrissy Metz, Brittney Spencer, Fancy Hagood, Kree Harrison, Lauren Jenkins, Erin Enderlin, Misa Arriaga, Sonia Leigh, Hailey Steele, Hannah Dasher and others as well as her own project- Side Piece). She has also had the opportunity to play on the Opry several times with various artists and has performed on The Today Show and The Colbert Show. Megan has appeared as a drummer on the ABC television show “Nashville” and the CBS show "Tell Me a Story", and as a musician on an episode of "Glee". She has experience playing all types and sizes of show and stage and has opened for artists ranging from Garth Brooks to DEVO and has also been involved with several projects as a studio musician.
Born in Virginia sporting a full head of hair, Megan – who now rocks an even more fabulous full head of hair - began playing both drums and guitar in high school. She credits several vastly different artists such as Kathy Mattea, Alanis Morissette and Led Zeppelin as her inspirations for getting involved with music. After attending Berklee College of Music for two years, Megan moved to Southern California and began getting as much experience playing live and working with varied artists as possible. She decided to make the move to Nashville in order to gain more opportunities in her musical career.
